Love this picture.

three flowers with blue skies and clouds

I thought I was done with school!

My fifth grader has a report on Hawaii due tomorrow and he hasn't finished it yet. I have been "helping him" with it for a couple of days now. I thought after college I wouldn't have any more papers due, but I guess I hadn't thought about future children that can't seem to get their work done!!!!

I want to be here right now.

It's Leo the Lion!

Hunter came home from school last week and he was Leo the Lion! I thought it was so cute I had to take a picture. These preschool projects are so cute. I'm glad that he has somewhere to make all of these fun, creative things that spark his imagination because I can barely find his socks.

Pilates, it's a love-hate relationship.

OOOOUUch! Pilates completely kicked my butt today, which is a good thing, but it really hurts. I have to drag myself to the gym with my four year old in tow, who is also complaining about going to the gym. The two of us, we make a great pair. Anyway, by the time I get there, get him checked in, go to the lockers, get upstairs to the classroom, I feel like I've had my workout already! Then the music starts and the stretches begin. I am always so glad that I have come to class when I am about 30 minutes into it.

Frantically cleaning BEFORE the cleaning lady gets here!

I hate that each week I am always running around my house from room to room getting ready for my cleaning lady to come and clean. What is wrong with me that I can't keep each room in ready to clean order? There are days that I really miss our first home which was this very cute little condo. It only had 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and no children. Amazing how clean that home stayed. Now that we have 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, a homework room (that looks toxic at times) multiple family rooms, media room, workout room, etc. I feel like I am trying to hold back the tide. As I am writing this, I am realizing that we have too many rooms. Who needs all this? SIMPLIFY will be my moto for 2008!!!

Classic Hunter

Okay, so Hunter, my four year old, just did the funniest thing and I had to write it down.

First of all, we have only been home from preschool for maybe 10 minutes and he has already stripped down to his racecar underwear. For some reason he LOVES to run around in his underwear. So, I set him up with some lunch and go down to start another load of laundry and not 2 minutes later here he comes into the laundry room with the most guilty look on his face. He looks up at me and says "Mommy, do you promise me you won't be mad?"

The next sentence, "Because it was an accident."

If you are wondering were I am, I'll be trying to get shaving cream and shampoo out of my carpet. I'm still trying to figure out how he made this mess so quietly and so fast!!

If I had THREE wishes:

Sometimes life gets a little crazy with all of the running around and phone calls and menus to plan and activities to attend and never ending homework BUT... I wouldn't trade all of our chaos for even the best spa money could buy because I get to do all of these things for my three little miracles and I am learning everyday to love it just a little bit more.

Keukenhof Gardens - Colorful springtime flowers in bloom

It's Springtime!

Keukenhof Gardens - Colorful springtime flowers in bloom

It's official, spring is finally here!! We made it through a very snowy winter and now we can all dig in and start planting again. I have missed working in my yard. There is nothing like planting something and watching it grow (or trying everything you can think of to keep it alive only to end up watching it die a slow and painful death). For the most part, I truly enjoy gardening.

My favorite Europe picture ever!

Okay so I am trying to figure out how to actually navigate this whole 'blogging' thing. I am getting really frustrated...Devin is out of town, so that means I am in big trouble because I don't know how to do anything on the computer. I am looking through different folders of photos and I come across this!! There is a sunny side to all of my ineptness (is that a word? At this point I really don't care). What an amazing trip this was! I absolutely love, love, love this picture. So I will go back to trying to figure this all out, and I will have this picture archived somewhere in the blogging world and I will close my eyes, take a deep breath, and remember Paris...

What is that saying? Don't sweat the small stuff...

Kids first trip to Hawaii

This was our first trip to Hawaii with the kids. March 2005. We left Hunter home because he was only one year old and there was no way I could do that long plane ride with him. I felt bad leaving him behind but we sure had a great time with Spencer and Katie!

I love this picture of Julie. What a great example she is of endurance. We all miss her so much and can't wait to be with her again.
