And Then There Were Six...

In April we brought home the newest member of our family.  His name is Leo.  We love him so much.  Who knew a bunny could be so much fun, and so easy to take care of?  I have even successfully litter box trained him.  Hurray for me!!!  We think he is the cutest thing in the whole wide world.
Here is a picture of him next to Spencer's very large hand.  I wanted you to get an idea of how small he is.  Leo loves to just plop down and spread out his legs.  His favorite place to rest is right on the air vents.  He loves air conditioning!!

My Blogging Drought Is Over

Funny thing happened over Memorial Weekend.  We pack EVERYTHING up to go camping and 4 wheeling and Topaz finding at Topaz Mountain.  After a very long drive down there, we set up our brand new 10 person tent only to watch a major wind storm come in approx. 15 minutes later and literally blow our Coleman "Weathermaster" (no joke, that's what it says on the side of the tent) to shreds!!!  I have never seen fabric and aluminum poles be riped and crushed like that before.  We watched it all from the safety of our car, except for Devin, he was behind a very small pinyon pine tree having an 'episode'.
I could go on for days about how funny this entire weekend was, but needless to say we decided not to camp.  I just wanted to drive away from the whole mess (and I really mean mess) and forget about our 1/2 tent that was barely standing and other supplies and just go home and pretend that this whole experience never happened.  But, Devin said 'no'.
So, after taking everything down in a huge dirt windstorm we headed to Delta because we were starving.  While driving to the only restaurant that looked like it might receive a B rating from the health department, I noticed a beat up car (it looked like I felt, and probably looked as well).  Next to the car was a spray painted sheet board that said "Demolition Derby Tonight at the Fairgrounds".

After eating at a FANTASTIC mexican restaurant in Delta Utah (who knew, right?!) we decided to go check out this demolition derby.  It was freezing cold, very windy, and very country (the guy sitting behind us literally had one tooth, yes one), but it ended up being the best night.  Who knew watching guys drive beater cars and crash into each other all night long could be so much fun?  If you ever get a chance to go, do it!!

Here is a pic I took out my family waiting for the big event and freezing.

All the cars came out and lined up.

 Let the games begin!!!

During the intermission (while they took all of the cars off the field that couldn't drive off by themselves) they threw out t-shirts to the crowd.  The guy behind us caught this one and then gave it to Hunter.  I turned around to thank him.  That's when he gave me his one tooth grin (I'm sure you were wondering how I knew he only had one tooth, mystery solved).
So the weekend that was supposed to be filled with camping, 4 wheeling and finding Topaz gems turned into mexican dinner and a demolition derby.  I am finding so many life parallels in this!!!
The main thing is that we had fun and we will NEVER forget watching our tent get blown to shreds.
